Cinemas in Amsterdam

Amsterdam has a wide range of cinemas to please all audiences: mainly classified in first run cinemas with the usual program and Revival and art houses featuring more intellectual movies, they are scattered along Holland's capital city so that you will always find one near your lodging. The "filmhuizens", as the art houses are called in Amsterdam, are pretty famous among the local inhabitants: at these cinemas, documentaries, retrospectives and art films from all over the world are shown regularly, although you may come across a selection of Hollywood blockbusters as well, at least the most intelligent ones.
